To truly experience nature, you need to take inspiration from it. This concept has been reflected in every single idea of ZEISS products for more than 100 years.

Our origins start in Red Lodge, Montana, at the foot of the Beartooth Mountains. A backdrop that not only served as inspiration for our products, but as testing ground for our legendary chairs. Since 1987 we’ve working to produce lasting outdoor products with a singular focus – to perfect “just sit there” no matter what terrain “there” might include.

From our home in Norway, Helly Hansen has been making professional grade gear to help people stay and feel alive for almost 140 years. It all started in 1877 when sea captain Helly Juell Hansen found a better way to stay protected from the harsh Norwegian elements.

CAMP makes the lightest piece of gear in nearly every category we sell. For us as a company, carrying a strong lightweight ethos in the mountains is like taking a laxative when you really need it. Lightening your load has the serious potential to increase both performance and safety in the mountains. So, if you know any climbers who need to give their racks or their packs an enema, be sure to point them towards CAMP because it is the only place to find the lightest gear.

It all started in 1979 when Bryce was unable to find a pack that allowed him to maximize his performance, so he decided to make one himself using his grandmother’s sewing machine.

Since the launch of Vibram FiveFingers® in 2006, the concept of minimalism, and minimalist running in particular, has spawned a recurring public debate. So, how are we supposed to do this minimalist/barefoot thing?

As a Nordic country, Sweden is not a nation usually associated with the worst impacts of climate change. But that perception changed dramatically following the events of the summer of 2018, when dangerous wildfires raged above the Arctic Circle and the worst drought in decades heavily impacted Swedish farmers.

In 2016, we formed mountainFLOW eco-wax with a straightforward mission: provide a simple and eco-friendly way to improve the skiing experience. Our first product was a water-based anti-stick spray that reduced snow and ice buildup on top of skis. This product became popular in the backcountry community, where weight is the name of the game. Reducing snow buildup kept skis light and helped skiers to efficiently venture into the mountains without carrying pounds of unnecessary weight.

Three entrepreneurial brothers. One great invention. In 1933, Björn, Alvar and Arvid Kjellström invented the first ever liquid-filled compass, and our story began. Not only was it the first compass of its kind, but is also set the global standard for how navigation works. The SILVA brand was born.

Since the company Koch Alpin was founded in 1978, the family owners have strived to produce the best skins in the world. From the very beginning, this meant Mohair plush which was a relatively new concept at the time. Mohair plush is made naturally from the wool of Angora goats.

THE HISTORY
Pit Viper was founded on a simple principle – sunglasses that can take a beating.

In the spring of 2012, Chuck Mumford felt a disturbance in the force. He had come to realize after years of skiing, partying, and living it up, there were no high-end sport sunglasses out there that could hold up to his lifestyle. It was then that he started to develop a rugged product that could be shot at, sat on, shoved in pockets, run over, and still maintain their sun and wind bucking ability. He painted his creations to match his extreme lifestyle, and damn did they look good. Chuck teamed up with professional champagne popper Chris Garcin and together they brought Pit Vipers from the Rocky Mountains to the world stage. We’ve been selling these highly functional and fashionable sunglasses for 9 years now, always stepping up to the plate to bring out the optimal blend of style and performance.

Happy Yak, although a recently launched brand, really dates back several years. It was actually in 1996 that the idea of facilitating outdoor excursions for sportspersons of all ability levels begins in the mind of Christine Chénard, President and cofounder of Happy Yak.
